Please join us for our Veteran's Day Play on November 13th @ 6pm. Due to our partnership with the HS Jazz band, we were not able to both have our performances on Veteran's Day. We look forward to celebrating our special Veteran's this evening and seeing our 2nd graders in their performance.

We hope that each of you have enjoyed your weekend and our students loved trick or treating. We have had a very busy and wild two weeks at Straub with dress up days and activities, that we are looking forward so a semi quiet week.
Reminder that there is NO SCHOOL Monday! Enjoy the 3 day week.
See everyone Tuesday.

We hope you all had an amazing weekend and today was a great day back for all our students. I apologize for not getting the Sunday information to you yesterday, but I was having difficulty with my end of the app.
Other than Red Ribbon week, we have a fairly quiet week here at Straub. This is by far the craziest week at Straub due to all the dressing up, crazy schedules, Halloween celebrations with extensive amounts of candy and normally a full moon falls in this week. Daylight affects our students also in the mornings when it is still dark and they are arriving at school.

This week is digital citizenship week across the district. Attached, you will find the themes for each day. This is not mandatory, but a fun way to show your techy side.
Please dress warm as we will be going outside until it is no longer possible.
See everyone tomorrow!

We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and are ready for a great week at Straub.
We have a relatively calm week before Fall Break next week with Red Ribbon Week and Halloween coming up at the end of the month. That is always a crazy busy week. We have added the details to themes on the weekly communication. Hopefully these are fun and easy themes for your child and you.
As always, if you have any questions please contact us at Straub at 564-9047.
Thank you,
Mrs. Mason

We hope everyone had an amazing weekend. I am so glad that the weather has been great and our students are able to go outside and enjoy this beautiful weather.
We have a rather quiet week of events at school with tutoring and strikers.

We hope everyone had an amazing weekend. I know everyone was extremely exhausted after Thursday nights grandparents night here, so we hope everyone relaxed over the weekend.
We have a rather calm week of activities this week.
Please see the attached Sunday Communication for all our amazing things at Straub.
See you tomorrow!

Good afternoon Straub Families!
We hope everyone has enjoyed this beautiful weekend and our students are resting up for another wonderful week at school. We are heading into week four here with Preschool just beginning last week. Reminder that Preschool only attends Monday - Thursday and buses will run a bit faster on that Friday. Our drop off lines took a huge hit this week with the addition of preschool. Remember, our students range from 3-8 years old and are little. Please follow the correct traffic flow and procedures to ensure everyone has a safe drop off.
We have several events this week with celebrations, picture day, Grandparents celebration, afterschool clubs and events.
Be sure to read through the newsletter for this week.
Tomorrow kicks off our RESPECT character in our Character Strong lessons. We hope that you ask your child daily what they are learning, working on and practice their words and fluency with them.
See everyone tomorrow at Straub.

This is for all Straub students Preschool - 2nd Grade

We will be kicking off our Kindness unit on Tuesday, September 2nd.

Good Afternoon Straub Families,
We look forward to our first day of school on Monday!
We have been gearing up for a great year for both our students and staff.
Reminders: School starts at 7:50 and our doors open at 7:20. Traffic for the first few days will not set the tone for a normal routine, however it will be crazy during this first week. Please follow all traffic directions to help smooth the flow of traffic. If you do not follow the path, this creates backups and traffic jams. Morning preschool drop-off location will end each day at 7:45 (not the first couple of days) and the front entrance will open as soon as buses are in (around 7:42) and will remain open until 7:50.
Breakfast will be served starting at 7:20 and will be available until 7:50. When students arrive early, they have time to eat breakfast in a calm manner. When students arrive at 7:50, they feel rushed as instruction begins at 7:51.
Enter from Mapleleaf Rd at the entrance beside the shopping center. This entrance will take you past the Student Services building (white house) and between the two football fields. Continue down this round in behind Straub. Turn left, then right to come up at the back on Straub on the Preschool side of the building. Please see the diagram attached for clarity. This is the same flow in previous years, so our returning students and parents already know this routine.
Please have all Straub students on the passenger side of the vehicle, unbuckled by their stop and ready to exit the vehicle. This is not always convenient for families, but for the safety of our students and staff, please know that students must exit from the passenger side. During pick-ups, students will be placed into cars from the passenger side. Straub staff are not allowed to buckle students, but please know that there are designation spots available for parents to safely buckle their students when needed.
All our communication will be provided through the Mason County Communication App. Please see the image attached here. Download this app from either the app store or through google play. Select Straub Elementary (or all other schools that you have students) and Mason County for all information across both our school and the district. This is an amazing platform that works for all buildings across our district and we no longer have to worry about a new QR code every time we get logged off. We will use this to put out all information for our schools.
With your support, we know this will be the most magical year for our students. We cannot wait to see our students and start another amazing year at Straub.
