Our #MasonReads initiative is all about building strong readers with strong habits and we know life gets hectic! That's why each month we'll post a fun question or challenge to keep us all engaged, so nobody's cramming in reading time at the end of the month. This month's theme: "A New Adventure Begins" Share a photo of your child, OR their written/drawn response, about their favorite book adventure this September on FACEBOOK. We want to see where reading has taken your family! Post and be sure to include #MasonReadsAdventure We'll be using the hashtag to draw for prizes on Monday, September 28. Oh and these prizes are for the parents/caregivers. We see you, we appreciate you, and we couldn't do this without your support!

Hello parents!
We hope that everyone had a wonderful morning and we have loved seeing all the smiling faces back today!

Just a few reminders for everyone:
* All students should have a permanent bus/pickup transportation on file and only emergency changes should be made.
* These changes must all be RECEIVED IN WRITING prior to 1:30 pm.
*No changes can be made after 1:30.
*No early pick-ups after 2:45. Due to bus transportation and dismissal activities, students will not be available at 2:45.

*PICKUPS- Parent/guardians MUST have the pickup number displayed in the front windshield. Please be sure to follow the same drop off route for mornings. Please see the attached diagram.
**If you DO NOT have your pickup number, a parent/guardian will need to stop by the office prior to 2:00 with ID to pick-up. Parent/Guardian must be the one to pick up the pick-up number and then may choose to distribute that number to the individuals picking up the child.

*DROPOFFS- Please follow the diagram. Our main drop-off is on the Preschool side and then we will utilize both locations (side and front) when possible in between buses. Only those that have been in the drop-off line will be blitzed to the front. Please look for a staff member to help keep the flow of traffic moving.

We hope that all students have an amazing day and look forward to more smiles tomorrow.

Thank you!

Good evening Straub Families! What a fantastic first week we have had! I am thrilled to see so many bright smiles, hear wonderful laughter, and witness such great listening from our students. They are settling in beautifully, and I am truly excited to continue this amazing journey with them. I wanted to take a moment to share a couple of important reminders as we head into Week 2. Please remember that only permanent bus changes should be made. All transportation changes must be into the office in written form by 1:30 to ensure they are received, written and delivered to classrooms. No late changes will be accepted. Please be sure you have communicated with your child any changes to your child prior to attending school as these transitions can be challenging for our young learners. Thank you for your patience and support as they adjust. Our morning traffic has been flowing wonderfully thanks to your cooperation. I ask that we continue working together to keep our arrival process smooth and safe for all students. Reminder that when available between buses, we will utilize both locations with our flow of traffic. Finally, please be aware that i-Ready testing will take place this week. This is a baseline benchmark ftp help guide small group instruction for individual learning in both Math and Reading. This week begins our Mason Reads. Please read with your child each night. This will look different for every child as some are just being introduced to reading and other are ready to read chapter books. Reading is the foundation for all learning and together we can build a solid foundation on a love for reading. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's growth and learning. We look forward to another amazing week ahead! Mrs. Mason

Dear Straub Families,

What an incredible first day of school! It was an absolute joy to welcome our students back to Straub this morning, and I'm thrilled to share that the day exceeded all expectations.

From the moment students arrived, our building was filled with big smiles, lots of laughter, and genuine excitement in the hallways. The energy was contagious! It was wonderful to see friends reuniting, new students being welcomed warmly, and everyone settling into their classrooms with enthusiasm.

Our teachers and staff worked hard to make today special, and your children rose to the occasion beautifully. Throughout the day, I had the pleasure of visiting classrooms and walking our hallways, and I was so impressed by:

The bright, eager faces ready to learn
Students helping each other find their way and making new friends
The positive, joyful atmosphere that filled every corner of our school
How smoothly our routines came together thanks to our amazing staff
Thank you for preparing your children for this important day. Their excitement about learning and being part of our school community was evident everywhere I looked. It's going to be a wonderful year!

In the coming days, you'll hear more from your child's teacher about classroom specifics, and we'll continue to share updates about school events and important information.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school family. Here's to an outstanding year ahead!

With gratitude and excitement we look forward to another day tomorrow!
